Pictorial Mathematics Services and Training
Professional Development The Pictorial math professional development has been described as “the best teacher training available anywhere” by thousands of teachers, math coaches and instructional administrators. Our training prepares teachers to use the most engaging and effective active learning strategies to teach the key concepts at each grade level. Our training provides teachers with the instruction, modeling, and the resources they need to quickly improve student engagement, motivation and achievement.
One-Day Training The one day training focuses on any three concepts of your choosing. Teachers are guaranteed to leave the training not only fully prepared to use the most effective and engaging strategies to teach these three concepts, but they will leave having experienced the most fun they have ever had at a professional development. Includes materials for up to 20 teachers. $2,600
Comprehensive Key Concept Training This three day training will give teachers all the active learning strategies they need to teach all of the key standards at their grade level. The three days are spaced over three to five months to give teachers the opportunity to implement the strategies and lessons they learned during previous trainings. This training also includes a classroom demonstration of the strategies in any classroom. Includes materials for up to 30 teachers. $2400/day.
Lesson Study Training Modeled after the successful Japanese professional development model, this training will engage your teachers in improving their practice by being guided to observe each other’s lessons, analyzing and re-designing these lessons and teaching them again. After the team is guided to select a specific area in their teaching they want to improve, the trainer will start the process by modeling a lesson in one of your teachers’ classrooms. $2400/day, minimum of 5 days.
"You\'ve done math teachers (and students) a great service with this book. It shows teachers ways to convey deep (and cool) concepts even while working under the "tyranny of tests." It\'s lively, concise, reader-friendly and fun. I\'m very impressed." - K.C. Cole, Los Angeles Times science writer and author of The Universe and the Teacup: The Mathematics of Truth and Beauty.
The best resource to help teachers make meaningful connections between the concrete and the abstract. If you are going to buy only one book to help you teach mathematics, buy this one.” - Carolyn Richards, math mentor
"The pictorial approach in Mr. Mendieta’s book has helped my students develop a deeper conceptual understanding of key concepts while keeping them very engaged." - Richard Almore, third-grade teacher
"My students’ response has been amazing. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to energize their students and help them develop a deeper conceptual understanding" - Judith Mack, eighth-grade math teacher
"I just can’t say enough good things about your pictorial resources. It has helped all my teachers focus on teaching for understanding and developing our students’ reasoning skills. - Crystal Santana, middle school principal
